Outpatient Treatment Programs in Lancaster, PA

At The Ranch Pennsylvania Outpatient Services, care is built around compassionate, whole-person treatment for addiction and mental health. Our partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs are designed to meet you where you are — whether you are stepping down from residential care or starting treatment for the first time.

LEVELS OF CARE

Our Programs

Our two Lancaster locations — the Outpatient Center and the Outpatient Residence — combine clinical care, therapy and supportive connection to help you develop healthier ways of coping, thinking and relating to others.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our most structured level of outpatient care. Clients attend full-day programming five days a week at the Outpatient Center, with the option to live at our Outpatient Residence with 24/7 support staff. PHP is ideal after residential treatment or when you need daily support without hospital-level confinement.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

A flexible program that meets several days a week for a few hours at a time, allowing you to continue work, school or family responsibilities while participating in therapy and recovery-focused programming. IOP is often the next step after PHP, or a starting point for those with a stable home.

Mental Health Treatment

PHP and IOP tracks for depression, anxiety, PTSD and other mental health conditions, with psychiatric services, medication management and evidence-based therapy. You do not need a substance use diagnosis to receive care.

Co-Occurring Disorders

Addiction and mental health conditions often occur together. Our integrated care treats both at the same time, with one care team, so progress in one area supports the other — available in both PHP and IOP.

Aftercare

Recovery does not end when a program is completed. Aftercare planning begins during treatment, and our alumni program keeps you connected with support, resources and community as you return to daily life. Over time, many people find that recovery becomes less about avoiding relapse and more about building a life that feels meaningful, stable and aligned with their values.

PERSONALIZED CARE

Specialized support in outpatient treatment

Recovery experiences can differ based on personal identity, life circumstances and individual challenges. Our outpatient programs in Lancaster are designed to provide flexible, personalized support rather than one-size-fits-all pathways. Care is tailored to each individual through:

THERAPIES

Evidence-based Recovery Therapies

Recovery involves more than stopping substance use or managing symptoms. It requires learning how to navigate emotions, manage stress and build healthier patterns over time. Our Outpatient Center offers a range of evidence-based therapies that support long-term healing.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)

CBT therapy helps individuals identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to substance use. Over time, this can support more balanced thinking and healthier decision-making.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

DBT therapy focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills are especially helpful for managing intense emotions and reducing impulsive behaviors.

Individual therapy

One-on-one therapy provides a private space to explore personal experiences, challenges, and goals. This allows for individualized support throughout addiction treatment.

Group therapy

Group therapy creates a sense of connection and shared understanding. Hearing from others who are navigating similar experiences can reduce isolation and strengthen motivation.

Family therapy

Addiction often impacts relationships. Family therapy helps rebuild trust, improve communication, and support healthier dynamics moving forward.

DUAL DIAGNOSIS

How does dual diagnosis treatment address mental health and addiction?

Addiction and mental health conditions often occur together. Anxiety, depression, trauma and other challenges can influence substance use, just as substance use can impact mental health. Our PHP and IOP include integrated care for dual diagnosis, meaning both mental health and substance use are treated together rather than separately. Conditions we commonly support include:

COMMON QUESTIONS

FAQs About Our Programs

Choosing treatment often begins with practical questions about care, eligibility and what to expect. The answers below provide general information, while a clinical assessment can help determine the most appropriate next step.

A clinical assessment during admissions determines the right level of care. Generally, PHP fits people who need daily structure and support — especially right after detox or residential treatment — while IOP fits people who are more stable and can live at home. You can move between levels as your needs change.

Yes. Many clients begin at PHP or IOP without prior residential treatment, as long as they are medically stable and do not need detox. If a higher level of care is needed first, we can coordinate admission to The Ranch Pennsylvania, our residential facility, and step you down to outpatient care afterward.

Yes. Our PHP and IOP include dedicated mental health tracks for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma-related disorders. You do not need a substance use diagnosis to receive care.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may be available as medically appropriate. Your clinical team will assess your needs and eligibility to determine whether MAT is right for you.

Insurance may cover some or all of the cost of treatment, and we work with most major providers. Use our confidential online form to verify your benefits, or call us — private pay options are available if you are uninsured or underinsured.

There are several laws in place that protect employees when they attend detox and rehab.
