- Intensive outpatient program (IOP) – three-hour group sessions three days a week while you live at home, typically for 5–6 weeks.
- Aftercare and alumni support – relapse prevention planning, alumni meetings and referrals to ongoing therapy and community recovery groups.
Medication-assisted treatment
Medications such as buprenorphine (Suboxone) and naltrexone (Vivitrol) reduce cravings and withdrawal and are among the most effective tools for preventing fatal relapse.
